EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM DESCRIPTION SWAMPSCOTT PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The Extended Day Program offers a warm and nurturing program which will meet the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of your child. While respecting the individuality of your child's development, the program will foster a sense of community within the group, encourage learning between the children, and enhance your child's emerging social skills. The programs are staffed by qualified teachers who understand the developmental needs of the child, and who recognize and provide for the individual needs of your child.
Admissions Policy
The Afterschool Programs do not discriminate in providing services to children and their families on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs or marital status. Programs are limited to children enrolled in the school, and priority is given on a "first come, first serve" basis in the order of sign up. Group size will be limited, with additional staff hired if needed.
MORNING PROGRAM 7: 10 - 8: 10 A.M. (Grades K - 4)
Arrival: Children must be walked into the Extended Day room and signed in by parent. Dismissal: Children will be dismissed at 8:10 to go to their classrooms.
AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM (Grades K - 4)
Arrival: Children will be dismissed from school at 2:15 P.M. They are to report IMMEDIATELY to the Extended Day Room. Attendance will be taken as the children arrive.
Schedule: 2:15 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. (Schedules may vary from day to day, and school to school.)

DismissaI: Children will need to be picked up at their scheduled time by a parent or authorized person and signed out (signature and time of departure). If someone other than the child's parent is picking the child up, a note is required and the person must present picture identification, (Please note Late Fee Policy.)
Attendance: On an enrolled day that your child will not be attending, please contact the program before 2:00 P.M.
Snack: Snacks are provided by the program at approximately 3:30 - 4:00 P.M. You may send in an additional snack if you think your child needs one.
Teen Center (Grades 5 & 6)
This program will be designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for 5th and 6th graders. Students will have an opportunity to do homework, learn life skills, and particip!3te in sports and creative activities designed to appeal to a Middle School student and help them achieve success in school and in life.
Arrival: Children will be dismissed from school at 2:20 P.M. They are to report IMMEDIATELY to the Extended Day Room. Attendance will be taken as the children arrive.

No School Policy: The Extended Day Programs follow the Swampscott Public School calender and are close'd on School Vacations and Snow Days. In addition, there is NO Morning Program on the first day of schoof, and NO Afterschool Extended Day on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. There will be NO Morning Extended Day on delayed opening days, but there will be Afterschool Extended Day. You will not be billed for planned no-school days, and your account will be credited for snow days. Please note: Extended Day may close early if weather conditions require.
